The mission of Powhatan Family Counseling continues to be to provide quality mental health services with a focus on building strong relationships and providing clients connections with other resources within the community.
Powhatan Family Counseling and Education Center was established in 2000 by Dr. Judith L. Cain-Oliver. After working in public education as a school psychologist and in private practice as a therapist for a number of years, Dr. Cain-Oliver sought to combine her education background with her clinical knowledge. Dr. Cain–Oliver wanted to bring mental health services to a growing community which had limited resources that were convenient to the residents.
Dr. Cain-Oliver is proud to call Powhatan her home. She enjoys working with and is dedicated to those persons living in Powhatan as well as the surrounding areas.
