Appointment Times:
Monday - Thursday: 8:00m to 5:30pm
Friday: 8am to 12pm
Initial Assessment (60 Minutes) - $175
Individual Therapy (45-50 Minutes) - $125
Family Therapy (45-50 Minutes) - $150
Coparenting (60 Minutes) - $200 (nonbillable to insurance)
Court Testimony - $900 Base Rate. If required to stay longer than 2 hours, there is an additional cost based on $300 per hour. These arrangements need to be discussed in advance with Dr. Cain-Oliver.
In some instances, there may be a Case Management/Retainer Fee required for cases involving legal matters. If it is deemed that the case is going to require a substantial amount of time apart from the clinical hour to consult with other professionals, review auxiliary documents, and coordinate care, then Dr. Cain-Oliver may discuss this matter with you. This is typically a one time fee.
Insurance:
Dr. Cain-Oliver participates with most insurance companies in the area.
Please bring your insurance card and payment to the first appointment. You can use the Insurance Benefits Form to contact your insurance company ahead of time to determine your financial responsibility. If you are unable to do this prior to the first appointment, you will be charged at the current billing rate. At your request, your insurance will be billed.
If you do not have insurance or choose not to use your insurance, you will be responsible for payment at the time of service. You may pay by check, cash, or credit card.
*Due to the fact that Dr. Cain-Oliver accepts Medicare and some Medicaid plans, she is unable to provide a sliding scale based on ability to pay.
Payment: Cash or check at the time of session is preferred. Credit card payments are accepted. In order to leave your card on file, you must complete the Credit Card Authorization Form.
Cancellation Policy: If you do not show up for your scheduled appointment and you have not given 24 hours notice, you will be billed a “No Show” fee of $75 for the missed appointment. This is to be paid prior to the next scheduled appointment.

Powhatan Family Counseling and Education Center understands and respects your need for privacy. We are required by law to maintain the privacy of protected health information, which is information in your record that could identify you. We are required to notify you of our legal duties and privacy practices in regard to protected health information. We are further required to adhere to the terms of this notice.
We will handle your protected health information only as allowed by federal and state law and according to this practice’s policies.
